Product Overview

Their back!!!

Exclusive to Birds Off, Flags in a  Sock is a new product designed to keep birds away from your boat using pennants. Traditionally, pennants have been a great solution but they would often tangle. Now there is a quick, simple, quality made , easy solution to cover your yachts bow, stern or mid ships. We have overcome the traditional problems with pennants using an innovative system which attaches to your rigging and pulls out in seconds all the flags live in a sock and are on a shock (black) cord. Once deployed, the free-flying pennants harmlessly chase away the offending birds.

The flags are made of kite/sail cloth material and are light weight , which allows them to flutter in the wind, adding to the effectiveness of the product. UV material, flags come in a white colour and inhibit the birds from landing and getting caught up in the flags.

Easy to stow, easy to set up and works a treat !

Each end of  Flag -Sock has a snap which will attach to itself or your rigging. One Flag in a Sock has 30 pennants made of fade proof ripstop nylon and expands from 5 meters to 11 meters in length (18 to 32 feet.) Units may be connected together for larger boats or greater coverage and protection.

The flags stop the birds from landing, swooping down and nesting.

Type of Birds:

Sea Gulls

Starlings

Finches

Sparrows

Works very well on small starlings that sit and roost on your side/hand/guard rails . Attach the flags to your rails and the fluttering of the flags will inhibit  the birds from landing on your rails , create movement which will trigger fear and stop the little critters from coming back.

Criss cross the flags across your boats bow to stop pest birds landing on the bow area.  Birds won't sit under the flags for fear of getting caught up on escape they consider it to be dangerous .

Socks come in 2 colours - Red Sock for port and Green Sock starboard side. Request a colour when you order and if you order two socks, we will ship one in red and one in green.

Please note the purchase price entitles you to one sock or buy the two package set for a discount.

    No pesky little birds

Posted by Unknown on 1st Feb 2021

So far so good. Have one lot of flags on port side of boat and the other on starboard. So far no little Starlings getting anywhere near our railings and leaving their mess. Neighbours who have seen ou Flags in a Sock have enquired as to where they can buy them. Been happy to recommend you.

Guys this really worked to keep the little birds off the sides of my boat, but.....the clips on the ends are a bit small. Can you make them bigger next time round?

Flags in a Sock kept them away

Posted by Dr Joel Kligman - Double Bay , NSW on 23rd Feb 2012

After a chat to the guys at Birds Off, they suggested I try the flag system for the front of my Sea Ray 40. Its working really well. I guess the birds don't want to sit under the flags and they can't swoop down on the deck as its criss crossed accross the front. Easy to stow. Just a bit expensive, but then it saves me cleaning I guess. Not a bad idea. Thanks
